The final product of the term project is a report and a presentation on “Business entering an Emerging Economy”, between 1000-1500 English words, 12 font, double space. APA Style for citation and attribution should be strictly followed.
The final report should consist of the following parts:
(1) introduce the business/company you have selected, including their company history, business activities, international experience (e.g. any export or foreign direct investment before) etc.;
(2) describe the selected emerging economy your business is entering, you can use the PESTLE analysis for this part, or you can use the institutional distance framework (National level formal and informal institutional distances include economic development, marketization, political regime, legal system, culture, innovation capability, and global connectedness.);
(3) use the firm-level analysis tools such as global strategy matrix, organizational structure, entry mode, etc. to explain how the selected business can capture opportunities and minimize risks in the emerging economy;
(4) your comments and recommendations on the firm’s strategy in the emerging economy.
This assignment is designed to allow students to develop an understanding of the problems that managers might face in an emerging market. Students ought to apply the concepts learned throughout the course to solve managerial problems arising from country-level differences.
