Using your textbook as a source, discuss all three stages of memory (Sensory, Working, and Long Term). Tell me how each stage of memory works and what each stage is capable of. For example, how long do they each hold information for? What sort of information do they hold? How much information can they hold? Are there different types of memory and if so, are those memories processed differently? How enduring, or stable are our memories? How do we form memories? What happens to the brain’s ability to form memories when brain areas like the hippocampus and Medial Temporal Lobes get damaged? Make sure to include the major processes involved in each of the stages of memory. For example, when talking about working memory, it is necessary to talk about things like the phonological loop and the Visio-Spatial Sketchpad.

Please tell this story as if you are describing to me what is happening in your brain as you act out your life. That is, create a scenario in which you must use all three stages of memory to accomplish some task and describe how the process works in real-time. Your narrative can be mundane, as in performing some everyday task, or extraordinary, like maybe you describe yourself as a superhero defending the city against a zombie apocalypse or something else fantastical. Be as creative as you want to be. The main point though is to include good, relevant material from the chapter in your discussion of how memory works. Be very detailed in your discussion of memory. Feel free to incorporate information from previous chapters (e.g. sensation and perception is a good fit with memory) into your story.
