This is a fairly diverse project. All of the information is in the .zip file. Please read in full before accepting, but here is the main description:
“The goal of this assignment is to “translate” a scholarly article written for specialists in your field into a piece written for a popular (non-specialist) audience. You will:
• Locate, read, and analyze a recently published scholarly article in your academic discipline that addresses a topic of interest to you and the general public.
• “Translate” the article into a different genre appropriate for a specific popular audience–in other words, summarize and contextualize the relevant information from the scholarly article in a way that makes it understandable and relevant to a non-specialist reader.
• Write a reflective analysis about the choices you made as you wrote your “translation.”
