For your Written Reaction, use what you’ve learned so far to write a thoughtful, critical reaction to one of the following prompts and submit your response to the D2L dropbox:

How does Rome compare to other cultures we’ve discussed (Address the character of Rome, Rome’s goals, and how Rome’s values and characteristics are different than, say, Ancient Greece)? How are Rome’s values expressed in the arts, architecture, and/or literature of Rome (give at least two examples and explain how they exemplify Roman character)? Finally, how are we like Ancient Rome, and what do you think we can learn from the empire’s demise?

Written Reactions should adhere to the following guidelines:

must be a minimum of 250 words (feel free to write more if you’d like to)
must address at least ONE of the prompts for the unit
must fully and thoughtfully and critically respond to what we’ve studied
those responses that rely too heavily on summary will lose points
must not plagiarize (if you’re borrowing ideas/info from our textbook, be sure to credit the textbook)
must indicate which prompt you’ve chosen
must be proofread (submissions may lose points if there are excessive/distracting grammar, spelling, or punctuation errors
