SRT 757 Assignment 3 HVAC Schematics
One of the purposes of Assignment 3 is the aspect of correction and refinement to what has been previously submitted in Assignment 1 & 2. It is expected that forming into the groups of 4 members might engage in the discussion of what is correct, useful to show and makes the requested information complete. You are then deciding to display this information on your final boards.
In regards to the HVAC portion of the project, there have been several concepts missing from the information that should be related to the observer (us grading).
Has it been made clear that:
- There is a Centralised HVAC System on the Roof / Basement?
- If so, are all the components shown for this system?
- What vertical shafts are shown that indicate: a Supply Air to the Levels in the building?
- Is there a Return Air ducting system? How does this air get back to the AHU where it came from? Is Fresh Outside Air entering the AHU?
- How is air exhausted in your concept? Have you indicated and located fans?
- Is there ductwork area indicated on a Floor Plan? Is there ductwork indicated in a vertical shaft(s) on a Section?
- What indication – if a Fan Coil system is selected – is there of it receiving a conditioned water supply? From where ? and how? Is it this water returned?
- How do the Fan Coil Units receive Outside Air?
- Are toilets, car parks, basements indicating an exhaust system?
Many of the above questions are an integral part of the lessons and diagrams provided in the
HVAC Equipment Sizing, Selection & Location
document prepared for this course. If you study this document there should be several answers to the above questions provided. Hopefully this will provide insight and a review of the prepared work to be submitted.
