Select an article in a newspaper or magazine that is relevant to the topic of marriage and family, relationships, etc. where you strongly agree/disagree with the journalist. Write a 150 word or less Letter to the Editor in response to the article. In your response, make sure to mention the journalist’s name, the title of the article, and the name and date of the publication (for example: John Doe’s article, “Marriage Today” (NY Times, August 28), was a scathing indictment of the hallowed institution… I strongly disagree with Mr. Doe’s position because….)
Letters to the editor are published daily. Important to know that Newspapers receive hundreds (if not more) letters daily and maybe 8-10 are accepted; the challenge is to see if your letter will be published, and, as well, it affords an opportunity to contribute your opinions to the greater dialog on your issue of interest.
