MONTESSORI CHILD DEVELOPMENT KEY ASSIGNMENT

OBSERVATION 3 – Elementary

The Observations assignment is designed to help you more fully understand development as it relates to the Montessori environment. Your three observations will consist of observing a child in a Montessori environment at the infant and toddler level, at the early childhood level, and at the elementary level.

Ideally, you should visit a Montessori classroom but I know we are in an unusual time right now so I will be providing you with videos to complete the observation assignments. The Observation Write-Up template is available for you to use.
Montessori Child Development Observation Videos

Your minimum 2-page write-up with (a) your objective description of the observation, (b) your subjective response or explanation for your objective descriptions, and (c) the influence or insights gained as a result of the observations will be submitted by the due date. The subjective response/explanation and insights sections should be referenced and connected to the texts, not merely your personal opinion.
