The assessment involves analysing a capstone business case and writing a professional report to address the prominent problems in the case. You will be given the case and the questions that need to be addressed in advance. The content of the questions may be relevant to any of the lecture topics and/or readings. Addressing the questions require cumulative understanding of the course content.
The format and structure of this assessment is similar to the weekly case analysis. The report will be evaluated based on evidence of students’ ability to:
(a) analyse a real-world problem,
(b) apply relevant performance management principles to that problem,
(c) formulate concrete strategies for action,
(d) justify those recommendations, and
(e) communicate them effectively and efficiently. Marking will also reflect the overall quality of the recommendation(s), the practicality of the proposed changes, and consistency with general principles of best practice.
NOTES:
Use AMJ (Academy Management Journal) style in the reference section and when citing relevant literature that supports your decisions and procedures.
Include appropriate headings/subheadings to facilitate communication of your ideas.
The word limit is 2500 words (+-10%, excluding references and appendics (if applicable)). The document should be formatted in Times New Roman, 12-point font, 1.5 spacing, with 2.54 cm margins all around.
Additional information will be provided in seminars.
