Your final assignment will be a reflective essay – or – presentation, the choice is up to you. You will synthesize your learning from our course and reflect on your own philosophy of education.
Requirements
Written:
• Your paper is to be written in APA format and cite at least ten sources.
o Your textbook and any of the readings from our course are perfectly acceptable.
o Chapters within the textbook can count as individual sources.
• Your paper should be 800 words minimum in APA format (double-spaced), not including a title or reference page(s).
• An abstract is not required.
Sections

1. Reflection on Learning in the Course
2. Articulating a Philosophy of Education
Let’s break down the content of each of these sections:
For the first, Reflection on Learning in the Course, articulate what you’ve learned in EDF 1005. Specifically:
1. What insights did you gain about schooling and/or being an educator from the readings, our in-class conversations and activities, and your research entries?
2. What controvers(y/ies) were you particularly concerned with, disturbed by, changed your mind on, or want to learn more about?
3. What action steps to affect change will you take moving forward based on your experiences in the course?
You are welcome to address points beyond this, but responses to each of the above components should be included in this section.
For the second section, Articulating a Philosophy of Education, lay out your own philosophy of education.
Specifically:
1. What do you believe about the way people learn?
2. What should teachers/educators/other stakeholders do for each child/student?
