Re: Research Topic Proposal
- Introduction
Immigration enforcement is being changed by President Donald Trump is the topic of discussion. By understanding how the change is being accomplished, the proposal considers detrimental laws against immigrants that the president has imposed which impacted the economic growth of the United States. As such, detrimental laws by the president have negative impacts on minority groups, the American dream, and the Canadian surge of immigrants.
- Exploration of Trump Immigration Enforcement Impacts
- Assessment of Minority Groups
Executive orders by the President started with the building of the Mexican wall. The problem with this order is that it keeps most of the people that support the US economy by providing their labor out of the country. Nations in The Middle East such as Syria have received travel bans among other Islamic nations. The controversy with the ban is that it is racist, an agenda that is forcing students, researchers, and workers among others to search for opportunities elsewhere.
A 21-year old cinematographer nominated for the Oscars was barred from entering the US because of his home country.
- Evaluation of the Enforcement Impact on the American Dream
This case of the cinematographer shows how the president is using the immigration enforcement laws to keep people out of America because of their ethnicity. The American dream gives hope to individuals that seek a better environment to be in but when the dream is a nightmare then it becomes less attractive. The problem here is false impressions whereby natives are made to believe an increase in immigrants results in loss or limited jobs for them. This pushes the debate of whether such enforcements help foster the relationship between the US and other nations.
Immigrant owned jobs also create employment opportunities in the United States thus part of the American economy that should continuously promote the American dream.
- Determination of Impact on Canada
The increased population in Canada of immigrants has not been overlooked. When the president decided to order the deportation of immigrant students due to the pandemic, most students filled complaints including universities such as Harvard. The problem with this change in direction is that US schools are becoming less prestigious and sought after when immigrants contribute billions to the US economy annually. Debatably herein is the fact that not all Americans believe in what the president is pushing for.
Radical actions against immigrants may feel less secure but ramp up repression to a whole new level.
- Revised Research Question
Why has President Trump changed US immigration enforcement? Researching this question is important in getting a clear direction prevalent in the US when it comes to racism. It also looks at vulnerable groups and how ignorance creates and spreads distaste for immigrants leading to xenophobia and Islam phobia. The racial rhetoric will provide numerous ways on how to understand what playing by the rules implies.
- Research Plan
The question will be answered by conducting thorough research of news journals. Comparison between the orders and their impact will also be made to form a basis for debate and refuting controversies.
