In this week we have covered a range of topics. This discussion board will have a flexible focus so we can discuss those topics that are rising to the surface as most important for the group. So, this is essentially an open board, but consider these topics as possible themes:

— Work with parents.

— How you or your agency handle seeing parents or children first, issues of confidentiality within families.

— Thoughts about play therapy and how children use play to express their emotions, their thoughts and feelings about important people or events in their lives.

–How directive to be when doing play therapy? Webb is more directive and active than Greenspan, for example.

Make sure that you cite the materials correctly using the APA guidelines, and use as many citations as you need.  Remember, do not just mention the source.  Discuss how your citation helps you to understand things.

“Play therapy is lots of fun. Play Therapy provides children a safe place to work through their problems. In Play Therapy, children can ask for help if needed, it also helps children learn new ways to interact with other people socially and emotionally.

Moreover, Play Therapy help children make friends, and share their thoughts. If a child has low self-esteem, experiencing lost, parent separation, bullying, scary events or trauma attending Play Therapy can create a safe and trusting Therapist relationship between children and Therapist”. Most Therapies use materials such as books, boardgames, puppets, costumes, sand trays, musical instruments to help children communicate. Such materials allow children to play out their emotions and experiences that are troubling time”.
