Bill and Wanda were “empty nesters” and decided to sell all their assets except for their motor home and travel to the West. They had planned to stay in campgrounds. While they were on their way, they noticed a small amount of acreage with a small frame house on the property. The house looked vacant, and they decided to check out the house. They went to the front door and found that the front door was not locked and looked inside and found that the house had been vacant for a long time and was in need of repair. They decided to park the mobile home and live there and fix up the house because it looked like the property had been abandoned for many years. After two years of living there and fixing up the house, a new neighbor stopped by and wanted to know if they were the owners. Bill said yes. Over the years, Bill and Wanda continuously lived there, maintained the land, built fences, and remodeled the house. After twenty years, they went to the County District Court and secured ownership by deed.
