Critically review the physiology/pathophysiology/pathology behind hypothyroidism. In general you should
1) Outline the signs/symptoms of the condition being ‘managed’ and provide (in fair detail*) an explanation of how the underlying physiology/pathophysiology gives rise to these signs/symptoms.
2) Outline the therapy/practice used to manage/treat this condition and give (in fair detail*) a justification/rational for this treatment based upon an understanding of the underlying disease process (or alternatively an explanation as to why you think that this approach may be
inappropriate, followed by a brief explanation/justification of what you feel should be the treatment)
n.b. for the purposes of this assignment it is not sufficient justification that the therapy works! (though evidence that it does work would be a useful fact to provide) you are asked to explain WHY IT WORKS
