Biblical perspective
The purpose of Biblical Perspective Responses is to provide you with an opportunity to critically understand the meaning of the verse or text by researching the original meaning and the author’s intent. You may be asked to reflect upon Scripture, a Christian writing, or other materials.
Answer the following questions:
• What is the original author’s intent and/or meaning and the main point of the Scripture verse, Christian writing, or other materials that are being reviewed? (Cite commentary or book you used.)
• Do you agree with these main points? Why or why not? (You must substantiate your view with a supportive resource, i.e., commentary, writing, book, etc.).
• What do you think you should do, based on your response to this reflection?
• Describe how mentoring can transform lives to be more like Christ.
• Why might God Jesus want us to assume the role of a mentor/mentee?
• How is mentoring a biblical concept? How did Jesus mentor?
• Reflect upon any verse of your choosing to support your answers and use the commentary to elaborate on the intention of the chosen verse and its background.
