Challenge with current version – This current version rambles and needs to be more be more focused without so many repeated concepts and ideas. This document is also just the first chapter that needs to be streamlined to focus on the main ideas. There are many things that need to be deleted and more recent references. Chapter 2 includes inclusion criteria but needs to be better written.
Prescribed format –
1. There is a problem with drug/alcohol abuse in the US.
2. Describe this problem.
3. Why are drugs so addictive?
4. What are some of the rules and regulations regarding these chemicals, and why are they necessary?
5. What are the issues with Ohio specifically (epidemiology, cost, impact in the workplace)? What data is available substance use and injuries in the workplace
6. Use recent references with 5 year timeframe
7. Data will utilize descriptive statistics analysis of workers’s comp data to review cases of substance use in the workplace and identify characteristics of workers with substance abuse in the workplace.
