Operational Management
On Task 1:
-Analyse and critically discuss the main theories/framework of Supply Chain Management and Inventory Management, and then apply them by discussing real and complex examples from City Pub Company.
-Discuss the Supply Chain of City Pub Company ( supply side and demand side) with examples. I will provide all informations needed about the suppliers.
-Discuss and give examples of the type of supply network relationship between City Pub Company and his suppliers ( the company have a Partnership Relationship with its Suppliers).
– Analyse Lean vs Agile supply Networks (diagram/chart on Nature of Demand vs Supply Chain Objective can be included). Apply it for City Pub Company by giving examples of functional and innovative products of the company and discuss Efficient vs Responsive Supply Chain that City Pub Compagny has.
– Discuss Bullwhip Effect theory and shows examples from City Pub Company
For Inventory Management:
-Analyse the type of Inventory and consequences and give examples of inventory: Physical, Queues, Databases
Describe the type of Inventory of City Pub Company ( Physical Inventory) and give examples.
-Analyse Pareto Curve/Class ABC System Theory: ie. Class A = 80% of total inventory value ( chart can be included). Discuss which inventory items have the most value and are use most frequently at the organisation.
-Analyse the Challenges of Inventory System: Quantity, Keying Errors, Damage, Misplacements, Wrong orders stores, Delay in record updating, Stolen items by staff at the company
– Examples of Stocktaking process and inspections, theft control, forecasting orders, how orders are generated from company.
For Task 2:
Discuss to what extent your operations manager has to interact and communicate information with the Human Resource Manager at City Pub Company. Provide two real examples to illustrate this interrelation.
