Outline the key characteristics of leaders and leadership and reflect on the implications for their own current and future professional roles and practice and how these affect the experiences of children, families, and communities.
From relevant sources of literature identify the role of lead practitioners in the maintenance of high-quality innovative work/practice and how these impacts on the experiences of children, families, and communities.
Describe and critically evaluate the variety of ways in which quality is defined and achieved, including the frameworks for maintaining and improving quality in childhood practice in Scotland and identify the implications of these for professional development.
On considering the change process analyse the complexities of the management role in relation to managing staff and teams and others and demonstrate the skills/knowledge required to undertake this to facilitate leadership tasks.
Reflect on professional development during undergraduate studies and on the links between improved knowledge and understanding of leadership and management and the implications for workplace practice.
