Source filter theory of vowel production
Write a short paper on the Source-Filter Theory of vowel production. Make sure to discuss: 1) Sound source; 2) Filter function; 3) Radiation characteristics at the lips; 4) Speech sound (output).
Submission: – Write your paper on page 2 (and following as needed) of this document; – File types allowed (required by Turnitin): Microsoft Word, PDF, OpenOffice (ODT), or Google Docs; – Submit it here: Course Content > Chapter 7 > Chapter 7 assignment – Important: monitor your Turnitin similarity score, it must be < 25%. Grades: Work above expectation will receive 5 extra points (but it’s not automatic nor easy).
Figures and Tables: As many as you want, use anything you wish to support your text.
Paper Length: Between 250 and 1000 words. Figures, tables, and references will not count toward the length of the paper.
Style: Font: Arial 11 pt or equivalent. Spacing: double-spaced.
References: – At the bottom of the paper there must be a “References” section in which you cite all sources that you consulted (books, articles, blog posts, websites, etc). Try to use APA style. – You must consult at least 2 sources, and one of them should be the textbook.
