Part A – VALUE –

Critical analysis of the attempts at building wider values into the procurement process.  The focus should be on what is meant by value.

You have used Presutti as your main source for the first part of this – it is nearly 20 years old and refers to practices in a different industry – why not follow the guidance given to help you answer the brief.  You have given a good, long list of procurement systems with some description of each which is useful but there is little comment from you which is required at masters’ level.

Part B – STRATEGIC PROCUREMENT –

Synthesis of the current advocated strategic approaches to procurement that public and private sector clients are adopting.

 You have given a short response to this task – it draws on an interesting article on change management in procurement outsourcing which is quite interesting but it does not address the task.  Listen again to the recorded lectures.

Part C –BUSINESS MODELS

Discuss in detail how your firm/how firms in the construction industry could be considering how their current business model can help them address the changing procurement approaches, and whether they need to change their business model to capitalize on these changes. You are encouraged to discuss cases and real project examples in building your arguments.
