Discuss it in the context of the qualities and characteristics of New Media art. Your essay should build on your knowledge of New Media expressed in the Week 2 discussion assignment.
Essay must include a discussion of specific New Media qualities and/or characteristics, as well as an interpretation of your selection based on what you read and observe about the work. Aim for about 4 thoughtful paragraphs (500 words or so total).
Refer to the Suggested Outline below.
If you select an example by a Dada artist (we discuss Dada in Week 3), your essay can also address the relationship of Dada to New Media art, which (again) is the topic for Week 3.
Use the work of art as your text. While you are encouraged to consult course materials, no outside research is required. Be sure to cite any additional sources if you do consult them (MLA style is preferred).
Include any images you discuss in your paper. Practice labeling your images with artist, title, date, medium. Note that titles of artworks should always be italicized.
