Study plans

A1. Your Why
Your decision to attend WGU shows your courage and determination to realize your potential. What is your “why” for attending WGU at this time? I have been wanting to go back to school for quite some time, but I kept making excuses on why it was not the right time. I would use anything as an excuse from needing a break from school to planning a wedding. After putting school off for the past 2 years I realized I could not keep doing that or I would never finish my degree. After having my first child a month ago I decided to take the leap. I made the choice to attend WGU to better  career, and to better myself which will help my family in the long run. A2. Imagine your life when you have completed your program. How have you, your family, or your career been changed for the better? When I imagine my life after I complete my program I can see the ways it has changed for the better. I have more job opportunities. I am able to take a higher paying position which gives methe chance to spend more time at home. I am able to advance at my current job, and more into management. I can apply for an APRN program if that is the path I decide to take. I see doors opening to more possibilities, and it all is because I took the steps to enter and complete this program.

B1. Your WGU Program
Describe your WGU program, including two specific requirements that this degree has for completion.

B2. Identify how many competency units you are required to register & enroll in for each term. Provide a brief explanation of why you will need to complete these competency units each term in order to achieve your goals.

C1. WGU Support
Describe one scenario in which you will turn to your Program Mentor for support and one scenario in which you will turn to your Course Instructor for support. Consider what you might be working on, what type of support you might be looking for, and how you might reach out for help.

C2. Your determination to succeed early is important to build momentum toward your goals at WGU. Reflect on and identify at least two (2) actions or behaviors you will engage in to positively impact your first term.

D. Time Management
Your strength with time management will be critical as you work through your program. Using the weekly calendar template in the attached assignment template, identify 15-20 hours of time that you will use to ensure you can study successfully. Fill in areas required for sleep, work, commuting, family time, eating, and any other areas of your life in addition to the 15-20 hours of WGU study time.
