Purpose
This assignment allows you to review the wide variety of governments throughout the world and practice oral communication skills. You will consider different forces that impact governments around the world, such as public opinion, media, political parties, interest groups, protest movements, economics, and international relations. It is aligned with the following course learning objectives:
• CLO 1. Civic Engagement
• CLO 2. Critical Thinking
• CLO 3. Professional Readiness
• CLOs 7-22.

Directions
Create the perfect campaign ad for the candidate of your dreams! Who is this candidate? That’s up to you. Perhaps it’s yourself, or a friend, or a family member. Or perhaps it’s a real politician in the public realm. Whoever you choose to make the advertisement about, it has to be based on real political issues and topics. Modules 7 and 8 might be particularly helpful for this project, particularly your analysis of a real campaign ad in Module 7.

The Video Project

Requirements
You must create a 1-2 minute video campaign ad, in support of a real person (it can be you, if you like), and based on real and current issues in the political world. Along with however else you want to highlight your candidate (education, family life, personality, etc), be sure to highlight three issue positions the candidate holds and explain why those positions are important and worthy of citizen votes.
