Discussion Question 1 – CLO 1, CLO 2

Most computing environments, even most home computers, will have a choice of editors. Explore your particular situation and make a list of all the editors you have to choose from. However, be careful not to confuse any word processor you might have with an editor. A word processor will put characters into your file that you cannot see and that will cause you no end of trouble when you are preparing a simple text file, or a file of HTML markup. You want an editor, not a word processor. On Windows, for example, Notepad is an editor, while WordPad is a (very simple) word processor. So, you should not use WordPad for writing HTML, and though you could use Notepad, there are much better alternatives.

  • Research which editor might be the best choice for creating web pages.
