Cultural lessons play a very significant role in shaping a leader. The cultural differences seen between leaders from the United States and Brazil. Brazilian leaders favor a wide force distance between high-level leaders and different employees to ensure their position and maintain their nationalistic culture of formalization. US leaders will in general move toward cross-cultural management with lower levels of characteristic manliness.
The US leaders embrace a more decentralized, dynamic construction that values the contributions of everyone in the association, including lower-level employees. Brazilian leaders lean toward high vulnerability aversion strategies since Brazil is similarly a high vulnerability evasion country. Brazilian leaders are more mindful of humiliation and outrageous openness in their cross-cultural management strategies.

3: Hofstede’s Cultural Dimensions Theory essentially focuses on the “effects of society’s culture on the values of its members, and how these values relate to behavior.” This is an interesting topic because in another class this week we discuss the relationship of attitudes and behaviors and how they can be understood and used for the betterment of an organization. We are finding that attitudes are a state of being that can affect how one might behave. I see the similarities here, because a society’s culture can have a very big impact on people and put them into a certain state of being that would have them act or behave in certain ways. This theory can help manage the global workforce by analyzing the effects certain cultures have on its people and recognizing its effects. Furthermore, if there are certain positives or negatives that are found, then it would be beneficial to try and adjust these to an optimal state for the good of the global workforce.
