Policy Implications: Gangs

Students will conduct research on previous/current policies which have helped or hindered the mitigation of gangs/gang activities and apply it to their discussion of gangs. Further, students may also develop future recommendations based
on any gaps/issues with current policies/practices.

Policies and Practices can be from anyone of the following sources: Police, Courts, Corrections, Not-for-Profits, Other independent organizations (e.g., UN, Jon Howard Society etc.), State task force

Instructions:
1. Choose 1 policy that has helped or hindered the mitigation of gangs/gang activities- Explain it and talk about what is good and bad.

2. Link the theory to STRAIN THEORY

3.Talk about limitations of the policy and how it can be improved to help mitigation of gangs
