Professional Development Journal

Course 1. First Course (required)

Learning is frequently characterized as a relatively long-lasting change in behavior as a result of experience. When you think about learning, it’s tempting to limit yourself to formal schooling that occurs during infancy and early adulthood, yet learning is a continuous process that occurs throughout life. Learning is important for increasing our income and status, for gaining access to new opportunities, for boosting our confidence, for developing and assisting our growth curve, for achieving our goals, for making us happy, and for personal, professional, and leadership development. People should never stop learning. We will never stop learning.

I believe that Knowledge and Scholarly will help me develop my potential in critical thinking, ontological humility, creativity, and innovation skills. As of now, there is no tough or easy component of this course for me since I understand that obtaining new knowledge is challenging, but with constant practice, it will become easy, and the things that I need to develop are my research and analytic abilities.

Three (3) subdomains of Knowledge and Scholarly that I would like to develop are critical thinking, ontological humility, and creativity and innovation. My objectives in this course are to become knowledgeable and proficient in critical thinking, ontological humility, creativity, and innovation. To achieve my objectives, I will use my free time to read books, solve one problem every day, and keep an intellectual journal. One strategy for staying motivated in attaining my objectives is to make a record of my observations of wasted time so that I can notice and realize what I am doing. I know that the more difficulties I overcome, the easier they will get, allowing me to attain my goal. Finally, maintaining an intellectual journal will help me keep track of how much I have improved in my thinking and will also help me know what to focus on.

My current network, which I believe will help me achieve my goals, consists of my mentor, friends, and family, because every time they push me and tell me that I can do this and that, I feel empowered. And the barriers are folks who do not trust me or my DBA process. These are the folks I will ignore while still respecting them.

My specialization in this program will have a significant impact on my success today and tomorrow. Because I anticipate that after completing this course, I will be skilled and equipped to meet the requirements of a DBA graduate. This specialization will serve as a stepping stone for my future, and my future is dependent on what I accomplish now.

It is human nature to anticipate, whether great or not, but employers’ expectations of me as a DBA graduate will be better than yesterday. Everything may change in a single day, including every employer’s expectation of DBA graduates. Employers sometimes look at how the DBA graduate is talented and competent, but most of the time they look at the DBA graduate’s character. A man with the right character can learn anything. I will not be worried about what the employers expect of me; instead, I will ready now so that I will be confident tomorrow.

As of today, I have done nothing to accomplish these goals but from today, I will begin to accomplish them based on my target’s strategies.
