1. “It was simply what seemed sensible for me to write after the war when everyone was thanking God they weren’t Nazis. I’d seen enough to realize that every single one of us could be Nazis.”

An allegory is a story with a symbolic meaning, an extended metaphor. And a microcosm is a community, place, or situation that mirrors or reflects characteristics or qualities of something larger.
Argue if the Lord of the Flies is an allegorical microcosm or not and if events that transpired within Lord of The Flies represent the idea in the previous quote?
2. Using the characters from Lord of the Flies, argue why intelligent characters are needed for survival/success and how naive/immature characters allow corruption.
3. Should the boys’ savage and immoral behavior, shown at the end of the novel Lord of the Flies, be blamed on the situation, environment, or biological factors (brain, emotional development)?
4. What makes a great leader? Using the characters’ qualities and events from Lord of the Flies, differentiate which character and their leadership style best exemplify a leader. Refer to NoRedInk.com for your Outline/Rough Draft instructions.
