Week #3 Discussions: Internal and External Double Victories
Welcome to Week 3!
This week as we’re celebrating the legacy of Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and reading all about Double Victories, both at home in the US and abroad, I want us to consider what a double victory would mean to/for us personally in this moment. Select a title that frames and reflects these dual victories and in a one concise paragraph, analyze and discuss:
1. An internal victory that you’re either working towards or have recently accomplished
2. An external victory that you’re hoping will come to fruition
3. How do these dualities and victories have an impact on the world
What do these double victories look like and why are they inherently personal and meaningful to you? This is a personal exercise inspired by the black men and women who fought tirelessly so that all Americans and people would be able to and still continue to live freely, today. What are your two victories today, this month, winter, year, etc?
If choosing to discuss localities, communities, land, and environment–you are not limited to geographies of the United States; if your victory is outside a US context, write about that.
