4.1 – 4.2 This is a good start to this piece of work. In your work for 4.1, discuss the different legislations behind maintaining confidentiality and sharing information. Some legislations you could look at are The Equality Act 2010; General Data Protection Regulations 2018 (GDPR); Freedom of Information Act 2000 etc. In your work for 4.2, please analyse the essential features of information sharing agreements within and between organisations. You should look at the Caldicott principles (1997) in this piece of work and analyse these principles. You could also discuss features such as how a patient’s information cannot be passed on without their consent or on a need-to-know basis, and explain why it is important to anonymise any personal information wherever possible to minimise the risk of security breaches. Please include a bibliography at the end of your essay, this should be placed after your reference list. The reference list must only include those sources which you have directly cited in your essay – that is, the sources in the reference list should link directly to the citations in your work. The bibliography should contain everything from your reference list PLUS any further sources used in research but not cited.
