DISCUSSION ASSIGNMENT

Assignment 1 has TWO Components:

  1. Find a job post for an actual position working in TV that excites you, or something you’ve never heard of before. What does the job entail? What are the objectives and specifications of the position? Who is the job post for (what company?) Is it local, regional, national, or international? Is it production, creative, business, talent, or some other kind of TV related work? Write a 1-page description and provide a link or a copy of job post you’re investigating.

A job example for Part 1 (based on my interests): https://g.co/kgs/aXQiJA

  1. Find a second/different job in TV where you could actually apply your studies, your major, your degree, and think about applying for this job. How could your work or skills in your life right now become part of the growing and changing television landscape? Find a position in TV where you are working in the Future of TV! Write a 1-page description and provide a link to the TV job you can use your degree/skills/interests for!

A job example for Part 2 (based on my skills): https://jobs.netflix.com/jobs/868100

Provide a description/analysis of each position and a link to each position. Explain each prompt carefully in relation to the job posts you find. You can start by looking at careers/jobs at Netflix, Hulu, Amazon Studios and major networks/corporations who create and distribute TV content like NBC, Comcast, Disney, CBS, Fox, or ESPN. You can also branch out into tech developers like Roku, FuboTV, Sling, Dish, Sony, GoPro, or other tech developers. Avoid social media corporations like Facebook, Twitter, or SnapChat for this project.

Remember: You are looking for two actual jobs or employment opportunities in TV, not a description of what a career in that position entails.
