History Research Paper

Go to #3 in the History Research Guide. Click on Articles. Choose any of these eight (8) history databases to use. Now, find an article you like in the database from any point in history. Cite your chosen article to complete this part in MLA or Turabian format. Tip: Remember that most articles have a “cite” button, or you can use zbib.org if you wish.
Example:

Johnson, Kolop. Politics in History Journal, vol. 1, no. 14, 2019, pp. 3–4.
In your own words, give a brief opinion of why you think this is an interesting article. (2-3 sentences at least).
Example: I think this article by Kolop Johnson is interesting because…..

Using #4 in the guide as an example, completely answer these questions:

Who? Who is the author/organization? expert? credentials?

What? Is the information verified, supported by evidence, college-level?

Why? Purpose of the information: to inform? sell? entertain? persuade? biased? opinion?

When? Do you need current information for your topic? Is the information up-to-date?

In new words, craft an original thesis for your article, written in one sentence. It needs to follow the formula I gave you in this week’s module. Use this page as a guide.
