Discussion trip review
Post A
Your coworkers planned the recreational part of a trade mission to a country. They have proposed some unique options that should give the business leaders going on the trip an authentic experience with that country’s people/culture.
You have been randomly assigned to review two of these trips. The coworkers you are assigned to review are indicated under the “Peer Reviews” weblink associated with the M2 – Class Discussion (Trip to YOUR COUNTRY) HERE.
1. Review the proposed options for the first assigned trip. Communicate your six preferences (i.e., your most preferred option for (A) see, (B) experience, (C) eat, (D) make, (E) meet, and (F) transport) to that peer in the “Assignment Comments” box of their M2 – Class Discussion (Trip to YOUR COUNTRY). For clarity, use the letters. Your reviews should be submitted in a text format, not in a file.
2. Review the proposed options for the second assigned trip and communicate your six preferences to that peer.
3. Review the proposed options for the third assigned trip and communicate your six preferences to that peer.
4. Once you have completed all three reviews and communicated your preferences to each peer, submit Post A with the phrase, “Review completed.” That one phrase – that’s all. I will then know that I can go and look at your preferences under the Assignment Comments of each peer’s trip.
If you were not assigned any trips to review OR one of the trips you were assigned to review was not completed, please let me know by Monday so I can make adjustments. That will allow you to fully complete this post.
Post B
1. Give the name of YOUR COUNTRY. Provide a map that shows where it is located in the world.
2. Based on the preferences indicated by your coworkers, create a trip agenda for a seven-day trip to YOUR COUNTRY (i.e., arrival is Day Zero and departure is Day Eight). Plan your multi-city trip so it includes a national festival of some kind. Your trip should be filled with unique activities and experiences that make it a true representation of the people and culture of YOUR COUNTRY. Each of these unique activities and experiences should be accompanied by both an image and a description to introduce it to your peers. (Remember only a couple of coworkers have seen your earlier trip plan.) Presume Covid 19 is not a consideration.
Note: To earn credit for your images, the images for your trip should be visible in your post, NOT in a file. Your peers should be able to see the entire trip agenda and images without opening anything.
3. In addition to your coworker’s preferences, include a tour of a port or a trade venue as a part of the trip agenda.
4. In a second Post B, include a weblink to one video (Youtube or another source) for something interesting you have planned on your trip’s agenda.
5. Select one of your peer’s trips. Consider the unique activities and experiences included in the trip agenda. If this trip were planned for tourists in general instead of for business leaders, identify and justify the segment of consumers you would focus your marketing efforts upon (besides people with sufficient income). Discuss how you would want to position this trip in consumers’ minds (i.e., what two or three words would you use to describe this trip?) so that they would think it worth the time, money, and effort. Create a tagline/slogan that you think fits the positioning which you could use to promote the trip.
