Directions:
- Read the Book: Bogenschneider, K. Family policy matters: How policymaking affects families and what professionals can do (2nd ). Mahwah, NJ:Erlbaum, 2006.
- Then google the program http://www.hcz.org
- Using the family impact checklist and the principles identified in Appendix A of the Bogenschneider (2006) text, write an analysis of the program.
Then Answer the following questions:
- What are the supportive effects of the program?
- What are the undermining or non-supportive effects?
- List each principle from the Family Impact Analysis checklist and indicate if the principle is supported, non-supported, or not relevant for the issue.
- Under each principle, use only those questions that seem appropriate for your program.
- Are there beneficial effects that might have been overlooked without the Family Impact Analysis?
- Are there harmful effects that a Family Impact Analysis could help avoid?
- Summarize the conclusion of your analysis.
