Using Two-Sample Hypothesis

In this assignment, you will simply be working through a few examples of hypothesis testing with two samples and determining whether the results are statistically significant using Excel. In some problems, you will be provided the data set, and in others, you will just be given the sample statistics.

You will submit a single Excel file that includes your results for all of the exercises. For each exercise, please include the output from XLMiner or one of the online calculator tools, and make sure that you clearly include the following information:

  1. Null and alternative hypotheses (don’t forget that sometimes you’ll use pand sometimes μ)
  2. The values of any sample means, proportions, and standard deviations
  3. Which test you use and why. Here are the options:
    1. t-Test: Paired Two-Sample for Means
    2. t-Test: Two-Sample Assuming Equal Variances
    3. t-Test: Two-Sample Assuming Unequal Variances
    4. z-Test: Two-Sample for Proportions
  4. The resulting p-value
  5. Whether or not you reject the null hypothesis
