ASSIGNMENT 1: Short answer responses
Answer the following two (2) short answer questions (500 words each +/- 10%; 1,000 words in total).
Question 1 (500 words):
Outline the incidence AND prevalence of tuberculosis in Australia AND the country allocated to you (see below).
Briefly indicate why you think tuberculosis remains an issue in Australia.
Ensure that you demonstrate your understanding of the terms “incidence” and “prevalence” in your answer. You are required to show the reader that you understand the terms, a definition taken from a source is not enough to show the reader that you understand what they mean. This demonstration of your understanding should be in the context of the articles discussed. General textbook definitions are not acceptable.
Question 2 (500 words):
Considering the determinants of health, provide rationales for differences in incidence and prevalence between Australia and your allocated country.

Do NOT use a coversheet.
Hand-written assignments are not acceptable. Use Microsoft Word or equivalent to write your assignments.
The file you upload must be in one of the formats allowed according to the instructions for the assignment on FLO (e.g. .doc, .docx, .rtf).
When referencing, use APA style (6th edition)
Endnote bibliographical software is available free for students and will help you manage references and citations.
Line spacing should be set to 1.5 or 2.0.
Left and right margins should be at least 2 cm wide.
Assignment text must be in Verdana 10 pt or Calibri 12 pt.
All pages must be numbered and include student’s name and ID number as a Footer
The assignment must be ordered as follows:
title of the assignment at the top of the first page
assignment body text
reference list
appendices.
The assignment word count should include any words in the body of the assignment, including headings, in-text references and quotations, but not the title page, reference list or appendices.
Pay particular attention to the specified length (word count) of your assignment. Keep your word count to within plus or minus 10% of the specified length. Be aware that to be fair to all students, the marker will cease marking after the additional 10% word count has been reached.
Always keep a copy of your assignment as a backup. Things can go missing or technical problems can occur. It is your responsibility to have a spare copy of your work if needed.
