Clinical Research Assistant & Post-Graduate Research Associate, Yale Stress Center
Conduct participant-facing human subjects research for two NHI funded studies at the Yale Stress Center, one being a randomized control trial looking at the effects of the drug Semaglutide on stress and craving for highly palatable foods in an obese population, and the other on the effects of mindfulness in reducing stress in parents of young children
- Guide participants through each study from start to finish, including screening, intake, cognitive assessments, clinical and physical assessments, biological specimen collection, and all study logistics
- Collect and analyse data such as physical measurements, activity, self-report, interview assessments, food intake.
- Manage inventory of biological specimens for both studies, the drug trial being a lab heavy study that contains a total of 7 labs spanning up to 4 months all involving 7 hormones collected across 177 samples in total. The parenting study is a 2-year longitudinal study of over 200 participants.
- Conduct and score the SCID, Structured Clinical Interview for DSM-5 disorders, for over 51 participants spanning across 8 studies including 6 drug and alcohol or polydrug trials.
- Conduct Imagery Scripts sessions for inducing craving, stress and neutral states in alcohol use disorder/ substance use disorder populations. Have currently written over 25 set of scripts for a total of 75 lab imagery sessions.
- Coordinated, planned, and conducted a two-day Script Imagery Development training session for 13 participants from across labs and vocations.
