The American Association of Colleges and Universities (AAC&U) defines internships as high-impact educational practices that increase academic performance and personal development among undergraduate students (Kopp, 2019). To support genuine learning, student interns are encouraged to engage in goal-setting and personal reflection.
The purpose of this paper is to prepare for your Internship experience and establish Internship and Career goals that will guide your work experience and support your future career. There are three parts (described below). Please use APA format for headings and spacing. Cover page and references are not required. Please review the sample Internship and Career Goals paper at the end of this assignment.
Section 1: Summary of class discussion and materials
In our first class meeting we reviewed several resources:
Class Goals listed in the syllabus (i.e. learn the value of leadership and organizational relationships; apply concepts learned in other courses, etc.)

Section 2: Long and Short Term Career Goals
Use bullet points to summarize the following:
Long Term Career Goals (3-5 years)
This should be a minimum of three goals
Short Term Career Goals (1-2 years)
This should be a minimum of five goals that support your long term career goals
Section 3: Internship Goals
Internship Goals (this semester)
This should be a minimum of five Internship goals that support your short term career goals
These goals should align with your internship agreement form. They should also incorporate relevant class discussion material from Section 1.
