Trying to Teach
Using the concepts of proletarianization and professionalization, analyse the impact on teaching of the Charter and of the situation described in Trying to Teach, and discuss what they signify about the political, economic and social environment within which teachers work.
Use course materials and outside sources, both secondary and primary. Your answer should be approximately 2000–2500 words (eight to ten type-written pages) in length.
Writing Notes:
• Have a clear thesis statement, that sets the limits on what your paper will cover.
• Statements throughout the paper need to supported by evidence. This is critical in an academic paper. Who is the source, how do you know this, what support is there for this etc. , its not good enough to list sources on a resource page at the end.
• Sources must also be noted when quotes are used, and this too must be directly noted within the paper.
