Comparative Analysis
In what is considered the capstone of the course, is a Comparative Analysis Term Paper. With this paper, students are tasked to compare and analyze any THREE related project case studies in Harold Kerzner’s Project Management: Case Studies 2 ed textbook. Since the assignment is considered the capstone of the course, students are expected to articulate, and demonstrate their project management knowledge gained from the course.
After selecting three related case studies (sharing the same general theme), the paper is expected to follow this framework:
1. INTRODUCTION: An introduction to each case study, including a summary of the project management issues and key factors in each case.
2. COMPARISON: Outline and compare the project management issues and key factors, including but not limited to; commonalities, divergences, unique features of the three cases.
3. INTERROGATION & ANALYSIS: Drawing from the PMBOK Guide, required additional research on the subject-matter, course material, and most importantly your knowledge and expertise of project management, interrogate, then analyze the case studies, including plausible explanation of:
1. The enduring project management issues, and key factors.
2. What was done right?
3. What went wrong?
4. What could have been done differently, why, and how?
4. CONCLUSIONS & SOLUTIONS: Draw solid defensible conclusions, then offer suggestions, solutions and alternatives.
5. RECOMMENDATIONS: Finally, offer informed recommendations grounded in your project management expertise.
- Must reference theory, concepts, material covered in the course, and Project Material in general.
- Must be in MLA stated citation/reference format, with in-text citations and a bibliography/work cited page
- Must be 8 pages in length, (not including title page or reference page), double-spaced, 1 inch margins, with 12 point fonts, Times New Roman.
- *Must include a minimum 5 academic references of articles or books other than the assigned textbooks. In text citation is also required.
