  1. Write a theme statement based on a theme topic from A Raisin in the Sun. (ex: family, racism, identity, money, love)
  2. What are three specific events in the play that relate to the theme statement you created?

 

Theme Tri-fold Brochure Instructions

You will create a brochure for the theme statement you created about A Raisin in the Sun. You must include the following:

Cover Page:

  • Must have your name, block, and date.
  • Must have the theme statement you created.
  • An illustration representing your theme statement.

5 Content Pages:

  • Each content page must include:

○ A title.

○ An illustration that represents the content of the page.

○ Be neat and colorful.

Content Pages: Events:

  • Include at least THREE events from throughout the play that relate to or develop your theme statement.
  • Explain how each event relates to or helps develop the theme statement.
  • Include textual evidence for each event to support your argument. Properly cite your text quotes.
  • Explain how your textual evidence supports your explanation.
  • Include an illustration that represents your event/argument.

  • Include characters (minimum of two characters) that relate to or help develop your theme statement.
  • Explain how each character relates to or helps develop the theme statement.
  • Include textual evidence to support your argument. Properly cite your text quotes.
