Written Discussion 2 – Chapter 2

Based on your current understanding of human sexuality, think about an issue or concern that interests you.  Describe the issue or concern and follow the steps in the scientific method (pp. 32-34), by doing the following:

  • List the six steps involved in the scientific method.
  1. Identifythe research question(s) you would ask.
  2. Review the literature.
  3. Formulatea basic hypothesis.
  4. Describethe population you would need for the project. (Operationalizing variables – How are they going to be measured?)
  5. Determinean appropriate method (e.g., survey, case study). (i.e. collect data)
  6. Visualizeand imagine possible conclusions (e.g. based on answers to your research question). Analyze the data to test the hypotheses.
