Intergovernmental relations is described as anything that happens between two levels of the same government. Example, the federal government offers grants to state and local government in return for meeting grant requirements. Another example might be local law enforcement agencies enforcing immigration laws for the federal government. In your agency, you have experienced an intergovernmental relations issue with another agency. As the director, you have been asked by City Council to reach out to the other agency and resolve the issue. In your resolution to the other agency, you need to address the following:
