The overall word limit for the assignment is 2,500 words. There is no 10% leeway on the maximum word count. You must declare your word count at the end of your essay.

Any quotations should be accompanied by a full reference with page numbers. In all Law modules, footnotes for referencing purposes will not count towards the word limit.

Assignment topic

Since the year 2000, there have been a number of high-profile cases which have dealt with fundamental questions about the constitution of the UK, for example Jackson, Miller I and Miller/Cherry (or Miller II) (see citations below). Do you consider that these cases support the view that the UK’s constitution should be codified, or do you consider that they show that the current state of affairs is working well?
