The purpose of this assignment is to develop my ability to clearly articulate the role of the primary health care NP by:
Identifying and comparing the legislation and standards of practice in Ontario related to RN, NP and MD scopes of practice.
Identifying the differences that exists with respect to competencies between RNs and NPs
Comparing and contrasting the similarities, differences and interprofessional collaboration in the roles, scopes of practice and competencies between the Primary Health Care NP and the primary care physician (MD).
