2. The DfES (2006) point out that learning mathematics through investigation allows pupils to become “involved in finding out for themselves, asking and answering questions, and sharing what they have discovered with others”.
Critically discuss whether learning mathematics through investigation is beneficial.
3. “Assessment is an integral part of effective teaching and learning” (QCA, 2007)
Considering the above quotation in relation to mathematics, critically discuss whether assessment is an important feature of teaching and learning mathematics.
4. Critically evaluate the effects of parents, teachers and government policies on early mathematical development.
