The purpose of this essay is to write a rhetorical analysis of the documentary Food Inc. Where you essentially identify and analyze the primary argument of the film.
The essay will require a work cited page, as the paper requires four sources.
The four sources are:
-The film (Food Inc.)
-An interview with the director of Food Inc. about the movie
-Two analysis articles that were written about Food Inc.
The structure of the essay should be:
An introductory paragraph:
-Give background about the film and the director
-Summarize the argument that the film makes
-Thesis statement about the individual claims the film makes to support its argument
Three-body paragraphs:
-Each body paragraph should discuss an individual claim made in the film. In addition to mentioning specific scenes and quotes from the film that support that claim. -As well as analysis discussing the rhetorical devices that are used in order to support the individual claim and overall argument.
-In addition to using quotes and scenes from the documentary, three other sources (director interview, and 2 articles about Food Inc.) should be utilized to support each body paragraph
*Proper MLA In-text citations must be used when citing these sources
Conclusion paragraph:
-Should concisely restate the points made in the essay.
-Also should clarify how well the film was able to support its argument, and why the film was able to do so.
-End on an interesting statement about the film.
