Portfolio Task 3: Reflect on a text

The Culture & Society Portfolio is made up of 4 tasks:
1. Group presentation 1.
2. Reflect on how feedback informed your presentation 2.
3. Reflect on a text.
4. Reflect on your learning journal.

The two highest scoring tasks will be used for this assessment. The portfolio grade contributes 40% of your overall Culture & Society module grade. For this assignment, please select one of the texts from the source pack and provide a personal critical response. This could cover one or more of the following topics:

• Does the text confirm or challenge what you thought about this subject previously?
• Does the text help you understand something in a different/ more academic way?
• What is your reaction to the text? Is there anything surprising/ interesting/ confusing?
• How is the text useful for the questions raised in the lecture or seminar?
• How is the text useful for your essay assignment?
• How does the text relate to the degree you are studying next year?

Your writing should:
• Demonstrate an understanding of the text and how it fits in with the lecture
• Demonstrate where you stand/ feel in relation to the points of the text
• Engage with the theories or concepts discussed in the lectures and seminars
• Refer to at least two additional sources (there are some provided in the MyReadingList section of KEATS: they should be accurately cited and there should be a list of sources at the end).
