Read and understand the case. Show your analysis and reasoning and make it clear you understand the material. Incorporate the concepts of the chapter we are studying to show your reasoning.

Case Analysis

The cases used are at the end of every chapter. Each case also has case questions that must be addressed. To best understand the cases, read Guide to Reading Cases on pages xli to xliv in the textbook.

The Case Analysis has assignments due in Weeks 3 and 8. These are all very similar except for the assigned chapters. A reflection component has been added in Week 8.

Week 3 Case Analysis Assignment (200 points)
This assignment will consist of an APA format paper.

Case Analysis Paper: Each student will choose five cases, each from a different chapter, from the readings in Weeks 1 through 3 (Chapters 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 8, and 9). The paper should be divided into sections where each case is under a heading with the case name and page number on it. A common reference page will be used for all three cases.

Your responses should be well-rounded and analytical and should not just provide a conclusion or an opinion without explaining the reason for the choice. For full credit, you must use the material from the textbook by using APA citation with page numbers when responding to the questions.

Utilize the case format below.
Read and understand the case. Show your analysis and reasoning and make it clear you understand the material. Be sure to incorporate the concepts of the chapter we are studying to show your reasoning. For each of the cases you select, dedicate one subheading to each of the following outline topics.

-Case: (Identify the name of the case and page number in the textbook.)
-Parties: (Identify the plaintiff and the defendant.)
-Facts: (Summarize only those facts critical to the outcome of the case.)
-Issue: (Note the central question or questions on which the case turns.)
-Applicable Law(s): (Identify the applicable laws.) Use the textbook here by using citations. The law should come from the same chapter as the case. Be sure to use citations from the textbook including page numbers.
-Holding: (How did the court resolve the issue(s)? Who won?)
-Reasoning: (Explain the logic that supported the court’s decision.)
-Case Questions: (Explain the logic that supported the court’s decision.) Dedicate one subheading to each of the case questions immediately following the case. First, fully state the question from the book and then fully answer.
-Conclusion: (This should summarize the key aspects of the decision and also your recommendations on the court’s ruling.)

Include citations and a reference page with your sources for all of the cases. Use APA-style citations with page numbers and references.

Explain how you can use this blog post, article, or report as a model for your own future effective writing. Analyze what you will want to do in the future to ensure that your writing, too, is effective.

Effective writing

This assignment asks you to consider what effective writing is and what you can do to become a stronger, more effective writer, as well as giving you the opportunity to practice your own writing skills and get constructive feedback from your instructor.

Read one of the following:
• an informal blog post from the Internet
• a short peer-reviewed journal article from the PG library
• a business report located on the Internet

NOTE: The blog, peer-reviewed journal article, or report you choose must address an issue (like a problem, an advancement, a new discovery, or a recommendation for a change or solution to an issue) in your field of study (Business Administration) that you want to learn something about or that interests you. Do not choose an article listing qualifications for a job or a career field, an article that simply lists facts, a newspaper article, or an encyclopedia entry, for this assignment.

TASK: Your assignment is to write a double-spaced, two-paragraph review in which you define the qualities of the blog, article, or report that make it effectively written and then explain
how you might use this blog, article, or report as a model for your own future writing effectiveness.

Use the following chart to help ensure that you meet the following expectations in the final draft of your Assignment

Paragraph 1
• Define effective writing and your own thoughts about what this term means.
• Identify the article, blog, or report you read and then apply your definition of effective writing to explain how the article, blog, or report you read is effectively written. Consider how this writer establishes and develops a main point and meets the intended audience’s needs, for example.

Paragraph 2
• Explain how you can use this blog post, article, or report as a model for your own future effective writing.
• Analyze what you will want to do in the future to ensure that your writing, too, is effective.

References:
• After the 2nd paragraph of your paper, also include a References list with links to the Writing Center information you use, as well as to the article, blog, or report you are writing about.

-Create a table containing the project activities used in the letter assigned to each activity, the time estimates, and the precedence relationships from which you will assemble the network diagram. You do not have to go into details of the steps after including them in the table.

-Draw a network diagram of the project similar to Figure 7.3. You can use the Word shapes feature, or insert an Excel section to represent the diagram. Please do not paste an image from the text.

-Determine the activities on the critical path and the estimated slack for each activity. Show the specific task letters in the path, and how the slack times are determined. Summarize the critical path, the steps and the days required along with whether or not the project would be completed in time.
