What forms of communication can be used to quickly communicate with internal stakeholder groups? What forms of communication can be used to communicate with external stakeholder groups?

Communication Plan

Overview Stakeholders are individuals or groups that have an active interest in an organization. Stakeholders and stakeholder groups typically include employees, vendors, communities, government agencies, customers, investors, and lenders. Different stakeholders have different interests, attitudes, and priorities. Effective communication ensures that they receive relevant information and develop a positive attitude to your organization in the scenario.

As the regional marketing director of a theme park, you are in the process of designing a phased marketing strategy for reopening all parks after a safety incident. You have already helped other marketing directors understand the importance of having a good marketing mix to inspire customer loyalty; now help them with a stakeholder communication plan. Develop a communication plan that will ensure stakeholders understand the steps the organization is taking to benefit them.

Three aspects to consider for effective stakeholder communication are the interest of stakeholders in the organization, the impact of the reopening decision on stakeholders, and the relevance of information going to stakeholders.

Prompt Complete the communication plan for the stakeholders of the organization in the course scenario. Refer to the Exemplar Communication Grid for an example of how the template can be used.

Specifically, you must address the following rubric criteria:

1. Identify the three key stakeholders (a minimum of one internal and two external groups) in the reopening of the park and describe each stakeholder’s interest in the organization.

o Internal Stakeholders

  • Employees
  • Departments
  • Management

o External Stakeholders

  • Customers
  • Suppliers
  • Lenders
  • Communities

o Use the Communication Grid Template to complete this step.

2. Identify and analyze the information about each stakeholder group and their need for communication. Use the Communication Grid Template to complete this step. Consider the following points:

  • Assessment of the impact on stakeholder (low, medium, or high) and explain why.
  • Information needs and communication methods of the stakeholder

3. Identify two crisis communication methods for communicating with stakeholders.

  • What forms of communication can be used to quickly communicate with internal stakeholder groups?
  • What forms of communication can be used to communicate with external stakeholder groups?

Which social factors will significantly influence the change requirements of the U.S. unit’s workforce? How will social factors influence change readiness in the workforce?

Analysis of PESTLE Forces

Scenario Effective change plans are created by understanding several external factors influencing an organization, including p olitical, e conomic, s ocial, t echnological, I egal, and e nvironmental, or PESTLE, forces. Experienced executives carefully examine PESTLE forces to identify major opportunities and threats and then adjust their organizational change strategies accordingly.
Previously, you informed the VP about potential reasons why an organization fails to change and suggested ways to avoid them. Now, you have been asked to analyze the situation and recommend a change management plan to the VP. As part of your analysis, you need to evaluate and report to the VP about workforce change readiness and external forces that may affect the change management processes in the organization.

Prompt Identify social and technological factors that can affect change readiness in an organization. Consider how these factors may influence the employees at the U.S. branch of the Singaporean software solutions provider. Then, write a report explaining your analysis to the VP.

Specifically, you must address the following criteria.

1. Explain how social factors influence the change requirement of the organization.

  • Use the PESTLE Forces Guide to identify social factors and refer to the U.S. Branch Overview for data about the U.S. branch.
  • Which social factors will significantly influence the change requirements of the U.S. unit’s workforce?
  • How will social factors influence change readiness in the workforce?
  • How will you visually present and emphasize social factors depicted through demographic data?

2. Explain how technological factors influence the change requirement of the organization.

  • Use the PESTLE Forces Guide to identify technological factors and refer to the U.S. Branch Overview for data about the U.S. branch.
  • Which technology factors will significantly influence workforce planning and training requirements?
  • How will technology factors influence change readiness in the workforce?
  • How will you visually present and emphasize technological factors depicted through demographic data?

Guidelines for Submission Submit a Word document using double spacing, 12-point Times New Roman font, and one-inch margins. This assignment should be 1-2 pages in length and include references cited in APA format. Consult the Shapiro Library APA Style Guide for more information on citations.

How will the identities of different stakeholders influence their views on change initiatives? How can stakeholders encourage or inhibit change in an organization?

Significance of Stakeholder Analysis

Scenario As the HR consultant contracted to resolve issues related to miscommunication and workforce discontent at the U.S. branch of the Singaporean software solutions provider, you are expected to present a change readiness report and then submit a change management plan.

You have read that stakeholder analysis is an important requirement for change management. You know that you will soon need critical information from the VP of the U.S. unit to complete this activity. To convince the VP and the leadership team at both locations to share this critical information with you, you decide to send out a memo on the significance of stakeholder analysis in change management.

Prompt Write a short memo explaining the significance of stakeholder analysis. Specifically, you must address the following criteria:

1. Describe the use of stakeholder analysis in organizational change management.

  • How will the identities of different stakeholders influence their views on change initiatives?
  • How can stakeholders encourage or inhibit change in an organization?

2. Identify and explain at least three benefits of conducting a stakeholder analysis.

3. Identify the key people in the organization:

  • Reference the Leaders’ Self-Evaluations to document your analysis.
  • Who are the critical stakeholders in the organization? Refer to the U.S. Branch Overview to identify the critical stakeholders.
  • Who could be interested in enabling change in the organization?
  • Why do you think these stakeholders will be interested in enabling change?

4. Include any questions or additional information you will need from the company leadership to complete your stakeholder analysis.

• Reference the Leaders’ Self-Evaluations and Employee Engagement Surveys to document your analysis.

Part 1: Business Report
Write an 8–10-page business report in which you complete the following:

Write a one-page executive summary that summarizes the 8–10-page business report.
Describe best practices for the creation of a business plan that aligns with organizational goals, with the inclusion of a business planning model and an illustration of that model.
Make any revisions to the three business problem statements you developed in the previous assessments, stating the specific problem for each of the following three areas: leadership, information systems, and marketing. State, “The specific leadership problem is…”.

For the leadership problem, include an illustration that shows how the problem was narrowed down using a fishbone diagram (Ishikawa diagram) or a cause-and-effect diagram, where you identified the problem, worked out the major factors involved, and identified possible causes of the leadership problem.

For your leadership problem, identify an applied framework (which can be based on a theoretical, conceptual, process, or development framework) and explain how the framework relates to the leadership problem. Explain the rationale for selecting this framework. Recognize that an applied framework is a real-world guide or lens for a business practitioner to follow and use to mitigate or overcome the problem.

For your leadership problem, construct and include a mind map to illustrate the linkages among the key concepts in the applied framework. Give a detailed explanation of the mind map
For each problem you developed, identify, discuss, and explain a model or theory within scholarly and practitioner literature that can be used to further understand the problem. For clarity, you should identify, discuss, and explain at least three models or theories, not simply one model or theory that would apply to all three business problems.

In addition, create an appendix with a brief (1-2 paragraphs) reflection on the writing feedback you received and how you applied the feedback to improve your work. Reflect on the nature of the constructive feedback you received, and explain how you will improve the quality of the doctoral work.

Develop a business report where you will explore models and theories within scholarly and practitioner literature, using focused search techniques, to assess their applicability for a specific leadership, marketing, or information management problem.

DISCUSSION ESSAY

In this assessment, you continue your role as a business consultant for the three business problems you analyzed in Assessment 3. You will assess the needs of the organization to improve organizational effectiveness. You will then develop a business report where you will explore models and theories within scholarly and practitioner literature, using focused search techniques, to assess their applicability for a specific leadership, marketing, or information management problem. Your audience for this business report is department managers assigned to work on the business problems you identified.

Problem-solving is a key skill that can help you succeed. Problems or obstacles occur all the time, and it is important that you can provide quick and imaginative solutions to them. Problem-solving is one of the significant attributes looked for by universities and employers, as it displays both logical and creative thinking. When deciding on the best solution to a problem, you should use authoritative models and theories within scholarly and practitioner literature, using focused search techniques, to assess their credibility, relevance, and applicability for a specific leadership, marketing, or information management problem. One tool to help you is MindMap.

A MindMap is a great way to collate all your information about the problem and any resources that could form a solution. For example, you can drag and drop any files into your Mind Maps – perhaps a budget spreadsheet, a video, or a Word document – taking the ‘Big Picture’ aspect of Mind Mapping to a new level. With a range of information at your fingertips, all in one Mind Map, you feel more ready for problem-solving and control than ever before. iMindMap also includes focus applications, such as Focus In and Out and Expand and Collapse Branches which can help you navigate your problem and focus your mind.

Benefits of Mind Maps for problem-solving

Mind Maps contain all the elements of your problem in one visual ‘take.’ Here’s why they are so helpful for problem-solving:
Mind Maps prioritize the most critical aspects of your problem, focusing on your mind.
Using colors and images stimulates your brain, meaning you are engaged and ready to solve the problem.
Using radial thinking, your brain generates more ideas and associations for many solutions.

Second or Third Submission Attempts

The second and third submission attempts require using the Track Changes feature in MS Word to track revisions. Make any revisions to your assessment based on feedback from your instructor.

Use the scoring guide to understand how your assessment will be evaluated.

If you have any questions, do not hesitate to reach out.
