In a 3-page paper, identify early theories of domestic violence that preceded the feminist intervention and the subsequent feminist theories of domestic violence. Analyze how early feminist theories of domestic violence rejected earlier alternative psychological and family violence theories and how that eventually led to criminal intervention as the primary solution to domestic violence. Specifically, include discussion on the impact of attorneys Laurie Woods and Pauline Gee on the advancement of criminal intervention in domestic violence cases as demonstrated in Bruno v. Codd and Scott v. Hart. Major points should be clearly stated and well supported with facts, details, and historical evidence.

Discuss the issues that would confront a homicide investigator in the following cases:

1)    A farmer has found a greatly decomposed body in one of his fields.
While plowing the field for the first time in two years, he ran over the body and the plow brought the body to the surface.

2)    A male, aged 20 to 40, has been found in an alley in the bar area of
town. There is no obvious cause of death. The body was found when a janitor came out of a bar at approximately 4:00 a.m. When the officers arrived at the scene they checked for signs of life and canceled the ambulance. At that time, according to the responding officer, the body was warm to the touch, about 90 degrees. Based on what appear to be scuff marks, it is possible that the body was dragged into the alley.

3)    A female, aged approximately 15 to 25, has been found in a fraternity bedroom. The victim is lying on her side on the bed. The responding officers have learned that the fraternity had a party the night before and that she was one of the students at the party. The bedroom is a mess, but this might or might not indicate a struggle, as other rooms in the same hallway are also disordered. However, some of the bed covers are on the floor, which may indicate that something out of the ordinary went on. There is no visible blood in the room.

Discuss the practical and ethical implications of each perspective that you identify.

Topic

For my term paper, it will be about cruel and unusual punishment under the 8th amendment. It will talk about how people have died because of their cruel and unusual punishment because of their crimes. Also, it will talk about how people have lost limbs because of their crimes they were convicted of.

You may use the like below as one of your sources.

Instructions

Discuss the practical and ethical implications of each perspective that you identify. This is intentionally broad so that you can select a topic that is of interest to you as long as it is multifaceted and connected to the course.

When I say “discuss the practical and ethical implications” what I am talking about is considering the legal rules, limitations on the actors/interested parties, and how the legal rules and limitations intersect with morality, including different perspectives of what the “moral” answer might be in any given case. Again, this is intentionally broad. To use a non-CJ example, someone discussing the ethical implications of the health care debate might discuss the law as it exists currently, the limitations (e.g., financing/funding; lack of medical experts who are willing to participate in certain plans, thus limiting availability of care not just on cost; legal restrictions on insurance; morality of leaving those who need health care the most with the fewest options for obtaining it, etc.

This is an exploratory/inquiry type paper. In other words, you do not have to defend a singular position against any of the others you present (argument). You are not responsible for presenting your resolution to the issues, dilemmas or debates, just discuss them based on the criteria herein (and the rubric attached). You should be prepared, however, to use a minimum of 4 outside sources and to provide a reference page.

Organize your paper clearly, using coherent paragraphs. Use 12-point font and double-space. The paper should be about 5-7 pages in length, excluding the reference page.

Research and discuss the different technology’s that are currently available and used by law enforcement.

After you’ve read Chapters 7 & 8, research and discuss the different technology’s that are currently available and used by law enforcement. If money were no object, design or create a new technology driven method which would aid law enforcement in catching or identifying suspects. This assignment should be at least 2 pages in length.
